What is the private winter sales shortlist?

You tell us your budget (from US$50,000), your aim and where you race. Before each winter sale (Keeneland November, Arqana, Goffs and the Tattersalls December Sales), Sami Adham emails you a short private list of horses from the catalogue that fit your brief. It is never published on the website.

Does the shortlist cost anything?

The shortlist is free. If you decide to buy, our fee is 5% of the purchase price, minimum US$5,000, agreed in writing before we bid or negotiate. You pay the sale company or the seller directly.

Will you buy a horse without asking me?

No. Nothing is bought without your written OK, and we never bid above the limit you set in writing.

When are the 2026 winter sales?

As listed in October 2026: Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale 3 to 11 November and Horses of Racing Age Sale 12 November; Goffs November Foal and Breeding Stock Sale 15 to 21 November; Arqana Autumn Sale from 16 November; Tattersalls December Sales 23 November to early December; Arqana December Breeding Sale from 5 December. Always check the official sale website.

Does Silk Road Bloodstock train horses?

No. Licensed trainers train. We help you buy, choose a licensed trainer with you, and supervise the plan.

How it works

You tell us three things. Your budget per horse (from US$50,000), your aim (race or breed) and where you race. One email is enough.
Sami sends a private shortlist by email before each sale. Only the horses that fit you. It is never put on this website.
You decide. Ask questions, drop horses, add a sale. Independent vets check any horse you like before a bid.
Nothing is bought without your written OK. We bid only up to the limit you set in writing.

If you buy: 5% of the purchase price, minimum US$5,000, agreed in writing before we bid or negotiate.
You pay the sale company or the seller directly. Your money never goes through us. If we are ever paid by both sides, both are told in writing first.
Vetting, insurance and shipping are quoted to you before you commit.
No promises of wins, prize money or resale value. Owning a racehorse is a passion, not a way to make money.

Questions buyers ask

Why not list the horses on the website?

Because your shortlist is made for your budget and your aim, and it is private. We never publish lots.

Do I have to fly to the sale?

No. We send notes, videos and vet reports by email, and bid in your name only up to your written limit.

Can I get a shortlist for just one sale?

Yes. Tell us which sale, and we send the list a few days before it starts.

How fast do you reply?

The same day, Dubai time (GMT+4).
