Breed your own racehorses: stud farm and breeding consultancy
Many great Gulf owners began with one good mare. We help you buy broodmares at the world's breeding-stock sales, plan the right matings, board your mares at established studs, and, if you wish, find a stud farm of your own. Independent advice from Dubai, working only for you.
What we do
- Buying broodmares at the November and December breeding-stock sales in Britain, Ireland, France and the USA, and privately. At the 2025 Tattersalls December Mares Sale the median price was 40,000 guineas.
- Your racemare's next career. When a filly retires, we plan her move to a stud and her first mating.
- Stallion and mating plans: matching your mare's pedigree, racing type and budget to the right stallion. 2026 European fees run from a few thousand euros to £350,000 for the very top stallions.
- Boarding at established studs in Ireland, Britain or France, with foaling, vet care and regular reports to you.
- Selling foals and yearlings at the right sale, at the right time.
- Finding a stud farm to buy or lease through specialist agents. Farms in Kildare and around Newmarket currently guide from about €1.65 million to £5 million.
Why breed abroad and race in the Gulf
The Gulf summer is very hard on mares and young foals, and some countries restrict horse imports. Most successful Gulf breeders keep their mares and young stock in Ireland, Britain or France, then bring proven horses home to race. We help you build that bridge.
The breeding year
- November–December: the major breeding-stock sales. The best time to buy mares.
- Before mid-February: book stallions and move mares to the stud.
- February–June: the covering season.
- Autumn: foal and yearling sales.
How we charge
Buying a mare: 5% of the price (minimum US$5,000), agreed in writing, and you pay the seller directly. Ongoing breeding management: from US$2,000 per month. Stud boarding, nomination and vet fees are paid to the stud at cost, and you see every bill. Breeding is never certain, and we never promise results.
